NYEC Legislative Alert - Summer Jobs Stimulus Act of 2008 and Other Developments - March 2008

This NYEC legislative alert details three major recent legislative developments. The first is Senatory Patty Murray (D-WA) March 13 introduction of the Summer Jobs Stimulus Act of 2008. NYEC sent a letter to members of Congress in support and we are asking NYEC members to do ths same. The second is the Cantwell-Collins Dear Colleague circulating asking members to support the restoration and increase of workforce investment funds. The third development is the relase of Training and Employment Guidance Letters 23-07 and 24-07, allocating new WIA funding for PY 2008 and detailing the impact of WIA rescissions on states. - March 27, 2008 |
